This design will reduce the overall footprint of your barn and require considerably fewer materials. We also highly recommend post-frame construction over other methods. Post-frame design is more robust and less expensive than other designs.

Wait for Non-Essentials

If you are weighing the possibilities of building a horse barn and buying a horse, don’t think you have to have everything at once. The most basic horse barns may only have a couple of stalls and a feed room. Tack rooms, wash stalls, and breeding areas can be built later when more funds are available.
