As already mentioned, pole frame buildings are almost identical to post frame buildings. The only significant difference is that pole frame buildings utilize round poles for the primary upright supports in construction.

Stick Frame Buildings

Stick frame buildings are primarily defined as buildings built on-site instead of being prefabricated at another location. However, another defining characteristic of stick frame buildings is that they principally use smaller pieces of lumber than what is used in post-frame construction.

The most common lumber sizes for stick-frame buildings are 2×4 inches and 2×6 inches. Most people are more familiar with stick frame buildings because it is the most common construction method in modern American homes.
